Joan Faye Phillips

She was an active member and church secretary at United General Baptist Church for many years. Joan and her beloved husband, Jack, enjoyed traveling, especially Alaskan cruises. Joan worked for Lancaster Insurance Agency, where she retired early to care for her elderly parents and disabled sister, along with her older sister, Jennie. She then returned to work as a secretary to her and Jack’s business: Jack T. Phillips Massage Therapy and Reflexology. She also volunteered at North Park Nursing Home.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Bonnie Staples; and brother, Chester D. Staples.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Jack T. Phillips; sister, Jennie F. Hill; niece and caregiver, Lisa Keck; beloved godchildren, Donald Easton Keck and Jessie Ellen Kaffenberger (Andrew); nephew, Dave Hill (Donna) and their daughter, Shannon; and nephews, Keith Phillips (Cindy), Mike Phillips, and Teri Jo Oakley.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday January 6, 2024 at Alexander North Chapel, officiated at Rev. Raymond Abbott, with burial in Locust Hill Cemetery. Friends and family may visit from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
