

Joan Anne (Spitzer) Gallagher Schuessler, 83, of Evansville, passed away Friday, December 19, 2014, at Hamilton Pointe. She was born December 11, 1931, in Scranton, PA, to the late Carl P. and Hannah L. (McGuire) Spitzer.
She worked for Dale Carnegie for 20 years and worked in Real Estate for many years with her family. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church.
Joan was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Bruce A. Schuessler, in July 2014; parents; and brother, Carl Spitzer.
She is survived by her sons, Kevin (Angie) Gallagher of Evansville, Shawn (Rebecca) Gallagher of Huntingburg, and Brian (Rita) Gallagher of Evansville; step-daughters, Jennifer Schuessler of Indianapolis and Julie (Denis) Gentry of Newburgh; stepson, Jeffrey (Anne) Schuessler of Evansville; grandchildren, Chris (Angie), Kyle, Kendra, Colin, Meghan Gallagher, Dane Schuessler, Cyndy Hohimer, Christian Burch of Mt. Vernon, Shea (Leo) New, Katie and Jackson Cecil; great-grandchildren, Macy, Gracie, Cooper; brother-in-law, Pete (Betty) Schuessler; and sister-in-law, Emma (Richard) Foster of Indianapolis.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Monday, December 22, 2014, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 704 North First Avenue, officiated by Fr. Jay Davidson, with entombment in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM, with a Vigil Service at 7:00 PM, at Alexander West Chapel, 2100 West Illinois Street.
