Nécrologie de John Aramowicz
John Aramowicz, 80, passed away surrounded by his family on February 15, 2021. John Aramowicz was a dad, grandpa, great grandpa, brother, teacher, coach, friend to everyone he met, and loving husband to his wife, Bonnie, for 57 years. John was the dad who road bikes, drove carpools, gave golf cart rides, and watched endless gymnastics practice and recitals. He was the grandpa who dug mud holes, built pillow forts, played tirelessly in the yard, and eagerly attended innumerable soccer games and cross-country meets. He was the great grandpa who played dress-up, drew pictures with sidewall chalk, and chased the great-grandkids through CMOE to their great delight. He was the teacher who made learning science fun and interesting for hundreds of Bosse and Reitz high school students – once by actually “shooting” projectiles off the Reitz High School roof! He was the coach who played basketball, baseball, football and golf and then used his experience, skill and patience to help others develop and improve. He was the friend who helped you move, gave you free golf tips, made you laugh when you were having a bad day, and made you feel like you were a better person for having him in your life. He was the husband who always washed the dishes and vacuumed -- obsessively! – yet also never forgot to show his love and affection for the woman he loved so dearly. John Aramowicz was a patient, compassionate, selfless, joyful man who gave every ounce of his boundless energy to those around him until the very last, and we are deeply thankful for the impact he made on all our lives. He will be greatly missed. John was born May 25, 1940. He was a graduate of Reitz High School (1958), the University of Evansville and the University of Iowa. He started his teaching career in the Chicago area, then returned to Evansville where he taught at Bosse High School and Reitz High School, where he ultimately retired in 1998. John is survived by his wife of 57 years, Bonnie; daughters Shari Thread and Traci Robinson; brother Gerald (Cindy) Aramowicz; grandsons Brandon (Jaclyn) Thread, Tyler Thread and Izaac Robinson; two great-grandchildren, Gideon and Georgia Thread; and sister-in-law Garland Aramowicz. John was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Alice Aramowicz; brothers Phillip and Joe Edward Aramowicz. The family would like to thank the staff of Solarbron Pointe, Deaconess Home Hospice and the Linda E. White Hospice House for their loving care and support. A funeral service will be held 7:00 p.m. Friday, February, 19, 2021 at Alexander West Chapel with live streaming at www.facebook.com/FuneralStreamUSA. Friends may visit 4:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to The Children’s Museum of Evansville where he spent countless hours with his great grandchildren, and also The Alzheimer’s Association.
