

He was a graduate of Central High School. John belonged to the following groups: Darmstadt Retirees; St. Joe Country Club; Riverbend Association; and Kentucky Colonels. He loved fishing, hunting and spending time with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by parents, Edward and Ruby Ryan; sisters, Mildred Juede and Rose Mary Grzyb; brothers, Clarence, Sid, Jack, Robert and Fred Ryan.
John is survived by his wife of 59 years, Pat Ryan; son, Michael Ryan (Barbara); daughters, Mickey Effinger (Bob), Mindy Sturgeon (Randy); granddaughter, Katie Hewitt (Greg); grandsons, Andy Effinger, Matt Hill (Jessica), Luke Hill, Jonathan Ryan (Holly); great-grandchildren, Ben & Amelia Hewitt and Autumn Effinger.
John’s family would like to extend a thank you to Dr.’s Walsh and Troffkin and the staff at Deaconess Gateway Neurology ICU.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00AM Monday, September 23, 2013, at Alexander Memorial Park Cemetery Heritage Chapel followed by entombment. Friends may visit Sunday, September 22, 2013 from 1:00PM until 6:00PM at Alexander North Chapel.
