Joe retired from Bristol Meyers as a forms analyst. He had been a member of Salem United Methodist Church since 1938. Joe loved his tractor and mowing the grass. He served 11 years in the National Guard, where he was an expert Marksman and taught Marksmanship.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Mary Lou (Tepe) Asay; sons, Joe Asay and Don Asay (Susie); grandchildren, D.G. Asay (Kelley), Corey Asay, Kyle Asay, Evan Asay (Sarah), and Carly Asay; great grandchildren, Lennox, Brodie, Chase, Anna, Ethan, and Emilia.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 22, 2022, at Salem United Methodist Church, 6311 Kratzville Road, officiated by Rev. Bessie Adams. Burial will be held in New Salem Campground Cemetery at a later date. Friends may visit Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Alexander North Chapel and Monday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
