

Joe graduated from Rex Mundi High School and earned an associates degree in electronic technology from ITT Technical Institute. He began his career at Kimball International and later was instrumental in forming REM-KAY Business Equipment Inc. as sales manager. After 25 years, he then joined Piranha Mobile Shredding and most recently worked at Flowers and More. He attended Resurrection Catholic Church and New Beginnings Lakeside Church. Joe was very active in his community especially with the West Side Nut Club having served as the 2006 president. Joe was very outgoing and never met a stranger. He enjoyed attending his kids and grandkids activities. He also loved taking annual family vacations, bird watching, and playing cards any chance he got.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Bettye Stevenson (Bill), Sandra Murphy (Ray); and great-niece, Kendall Murphy.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sharon (Winnecke) Beck; son, Ryan Beck (Jamie); daughter, Jennifer Staggs (Shawn); grandchildren; Adalynn and Graden Beck; and his granddogs, Hoosier, Louie, and Archer.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at Alexander West Chapel, 2100 W. Illinois Street, Evansville, IN officiated by Deacon Dan Niemeier. Friends and family may visit on Monday, March 4, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the West Side Nut Club Scholarship Fund or the Kendall Murphy Memorial Fund, c/o Resurrection Catholic Church.
