

Joseph Douglas “Doug” Griffin, II, 62, of Evansville, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, May 5, 2020. He was born in Evansville on September 29, 1957 to Joseph and Donna Mae (Farrar) Griffin.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran. Doug worked construction and as an ironworker for Schuckers Iron Works. He worked for Flanders Electric and worked as a maintenance supervisor of buildings and grounds at St. Benedicts. Doug was a faithful and profound in his faith always sharing his testimony as a member of St. Benedicts Cathedral. He also attended Agape Family Ministries and Pleasant Chapel General Baptist. He was a member of St. Vincent Stroke Group, Encompass Health Stroke Group, and St. Benedicts Youth Group. Doug, having the gift of gab, never met a stranger. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and after his stroke spending time at the YMCA.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Jenny Griffin.
He is survived by his wife, Tracy; son, Joseph “Joey” Douglas Griffin, III; step-son, Justin White and Adam Pool (Nikki); step-daughter, Rachel Hobson (Beau); grandchildren, Ryann Bowen, Austin Scott, Evelyn Nall, Ryker Pool, and Thea Rose Pool; mother and father-in-law, Lloyd and Mary Craig; sister-in-law, Pam Utley; sisters, Brenda Townsend (Robert), Tammy Head (Larry), and Lori Baggett (Rob); brother, Kevin Griffin; step-mother, Edith Griffin; close friend, Diane Griffin; and several nieces, nephews, companion and best friend Baxter (schnauzer) and many close friends.
Services will be held at a later date.
