She enjoyed her time at the beach, especially Daytona Beach. Joyce loved fishing, NASCAR, soap operas and Diet Coke. She also loved all sports, especially F.J. Reitz football.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Winters, Sr.; sister, Janet Elliott; brother, Jerald Smith; and her parents.
She is survived by her children, Scheri (Chuck) Buis; Gary Jr. (DeeAnn), Boatswain Mate Third Class Retired David, Jeff, Billy and Bengy; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers, Master Chief Air Traffic Controller Retired James C. “Jimmy” (Fran), John (Cheryl) and Curtis; and sisters, Rose (Jerry) Sweeney and Dodie Smith.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, July 22, 2017, at Alexander West Chapel, with burial in Tupman Cemetery. Friends may visit Saturday from 11:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
