June (Rexing) Riedford, 97, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2020 at North River Health Campus. She was born in Haubstadt, Indiana on June 21, 1923 to the late Leo G. and Rosetta (Builtman) Benkert.
She retired from Kent Plastics. She was a member of the Benedictine Oblates, and Holy Rosary Catholic Church where she received the Msgr. Maurilius E. Bilskie Award in 2012. She was a Eucharist minister and enjoyed taking communion to area nursing homes. She enjoyed square dancing, quilting, gardening, and was an excellent seamstress.
June was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward “Rex” Rexing; second husband, James “Jim” Riedford Sr.; daughter, Gloria Tenbarge; son-in-law, Paul Tenbarge; sisters, Alberta Fehrenbacher and Mildred Wallace; and brother, Bud Benkert.
She is survived by her grandson, Todd Tenbarge (April); great grandchildren, Josh and Jaelyn Tenbarge; sisters, Eljean Sollman and Joyce Henderson (Charlie); niece and caregiver, Barbara Stolz (Ron); and many other nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 12, 2020 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, officiated by Fr. Bernard Etienne, with entombment at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Friends may visit Friday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Alexander North Chapel, 4200 Stringtown Road, where a Prayer of the Rosary will be held at 3:00 p.m. by Fr. Kenneth Betz.
The family would like to thank the staff and cargivers at North River Health Campus, St. Vincent Hospital, Heart to Heart Hospice, and to Fr. Betz for his many visits to North River.
