

She earned her Bachelor and Master’s degree from Indiana State University. Karen started her teaching career in South Bend, IN. She taught in the Family and Consumer Science area at Harrison High School for 26 years. Her areas of responsibility included Early Children Education and Child Development. She retired from EVSC in 2001. Karen was a member of the Methodist Temple United Methodist Women’s and received recognition for her work in missions. She was a member of Sarah Fellowship, Temple Crafters, Evansville Retired Teachers, and Indiana State Retired Teachers. Her past memberships included Alpha Delta Kappa, past president and Silver Sister, Four Freedoms Doll Club, Noon Neighbors Home Extension Club, Evansville Home Economist and SOS (Stamps on Saturday). She married her husband Gerry D. Kendall on June, 23, 1962 and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2012.
Karen was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Jerry Kendall; and her Schnauzers, Sidney and Elsa.
She is survived by her sons, Jeffrey Kendall of Evansville, IN and Andrew Kendall (Jamie) of Greenwood, IN; grandchildren, Reese, Taylor, Aubrey, Chloe, and Luke; nephews, Eric Cox (Ruth) of Evansville, IN; and niece, Jill Link (John) of Pueblo, CO.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 7, 2025, at Methodist Temple, 2109 Lincoln Ave., Evansville, IN 47714 with Rev. Randy Moore officiating. Entombment will follow at Alexander Memorial Park. Friends and family may visit from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 6, 2025, at Alexander East Chapel, 2115 Lincoln Ave.
