

She graduated from Reitz Memorial High School in 1965. She worked at Vista International in Kenosha, WI and then after moving back to Evansville, she worked at Indian Industries for 5 years then moved on to Wesselman's Grocery at the North Park Pavilion for 4 years. She was a devoted member of River of Life Church. Her hobbies included shooting guns, fishing and gambling, especially in Las Vegas. Karen loved to travel and went to the beach every year with her sister and niece. She loved to watch TV; her favorite show was Survivor. When she was not watching TV, she would enjoy being outside in her garden.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents; husband Jack Shultz; daughter Victoria Sumner; grandson Jarrod Sumner; brother Gilbert "Bud" Childers.
She is survived by her daughter Kimberly Wells (Kim); two granddaughters, Alexzandria Rigg and Dr. Faith Fox (Nick); great grandchildren, Christian Rigg (Brooklyn), Noah Hall, Kaleb Hall, Shane Sumner, Katherine Hall, Luke Fox, Archer Sumner, Lillian Fox, and Camden Capps; sisters Sharon Cimon, Rose (Tom) Siscel, Ginger (Pat) Skarda, and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday November 29th ,2025 at Alexander North Chapel, officiated by Pastor Kim Wells, with burial to follow in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends and Family may visit from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
