

Katherine J. (McCormick) Ford, of Newburgh, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 5, 2012, after a courageous two and a half year battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born August 31, 1919, in Vincennes, to the late William and Esther (Wampler) McCormick.
She retired from the Evansville Public Library where she worked at the Harper School Library and later in the Children’s Room at Central Library. She was a member of Methodist Temple for more than 50 years where she was involved in many activities and served on numerous committees. She was also a member of the Evansville East Side Civitan, Daughters of the Nile, Hadi Honored Ladies and the Hadi Motor Belles.
Katherine was preceded in death by her husband, Paul, in 1996. They had celebrated 56 years of marriage.
She leaves behind her daughter, Paula Grounds; son-in-law, Charles; beloved granddaughter, Allison Lawalin; grandson-in-law, Nick; and step-grandson, Ryan Grounds.
Services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Rev. Chris Neikirk, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery in Vincennes. Friends may visit Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
