

He graduated from Reitz High School and then joined the Merchant Marines in 1945. Bud was then drafted into the Army. In 1953, he and his father purchased Center Heights Lumber.
Bud had a very strong work ethic, which left little time for hobbies. He enjoyed dancing, horses, and riding his Harley.
He was a lifetime member of Concordia Lutheran Church.
Bud is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph J. & Amelia Koch; wife, Frances W. (Wolf) Koch; daughter-in-law, Deleah “Dee” (Schroeder) Koch.
He is survived by his daughters, Jackie Acton, and husband Dennis, Jane Fehrenbacher, and husband Joe; son, Daniel Koch, and wife Linda; grandchildren, Roxy Basham, Keith Acton, Sara Acton, Eric Fehrenbacher, Marc Fehrenbacher, April Thomas, Jarod Fehrenbacher, Michael Goldman, Ben Byers, and Amber Sattler; 23 great-grandchildren; sister, Betty James of Nampa, Idaho; brother, Ralph E. Koch of Poseyville, IN; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at Alexander North Chapel, officiated by Pastor David Wiist with burial at Campground Cemetery. Friends may visit Tuesday from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at Alexander North Chapel and from 10:00 AM until service time on Wednesday.
Bud’s family would like to extend a sincere thank you to his live-in caregivers, Charlene and Dave Gall, for their many years of personal care, and to the entire staff of Deaconess Hospice.
