Larry graduated from Reitz High School, Evansville College, and Indiana University. He worked as a teacher for the EVSC for 37 years, with 35 of those years being at Tekoppel Elementary School. Larry was actively involved in Calvary Baptist Church as a member and Sunday school teacher, Christian Fellowship Church, the school PTA, and coached girls basketball and youth baseball for many years. He was an avid outdoorsman who lived to fish, deer hunt, waterfowl hunt, camp and travel.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Elsie DeWeese.
Larry is survived by his wife, Joanne (Day) DeWeese; sons, Greg DeWeese (Angela) and Todd DeWeese (Shelly); grandchildren, Connor DeWeese, Riley DeWeese, John Rogan, and Blake DeWeese.
Friends may visit from 3:00 p.m until 7:00 p.m on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at Alexander Funeral Home West, 2100 W. Illinois Street, in Evansville.
A private funeral service will be officiated by Pastor Sam Lynn with entombment in Alexander Memorial Park Cemetery.
