Nécrologie de Larry Marx
Larry Wayne Marx, of Evansville, IN, passed from this world on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 in the Linda White Hospice House in Evansville. He was born to the late Lillian and Shirley Marx on July 16, 1950. He was a proud lifetime Westsider, he graduated with the F.J. Reitz High School class of 1968 and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He attended Indiana University, but interrupted his studies to serve proudly as an air traffic controller in the United States Air Force. He married his high school sweetheart in 1971 and soon returned to Evansville to begin a family. He began a career in custom metal fabrication at George Koch Sons. He graduated with a business degree from ISUE (now USI) and continued his career at Alfab Metals with friend and colleague Bob Becker. Along with his devotion to his family and country, Larry faithfully served as a deacon, teacher, and youth leader at Westwood Baptist Church. He was a proud lifetime resident of Rollett Lane where he enjoyed visiting neighbors and teaching his grandchildren to ride a lawnmower. He enjoyed camping and fishing trips with family and friends, garage sales, soft serve ice cream, Mary’s blackberry cobbler and playing the coronet. He was a remarkably gifted whistler and lifter of spirits. His heart for helping was unparalleled, and his legacy would be most fittingly honored with a continued paying forward of kindness and clean jokes. He is survived by, his beloved wife of 50 years Mary Lasher Marx of Evansville; son, Daniel Marx of the Evansville Fire Department; daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Brian Howard of Owensboro, KY.; grandsons, Clayton, Eli, and Evan Howard of Owensboro, KY.; granddaughter, Anna Marie Marx of Evansville; sister, Shirley (Chuck) Wilder of Evansville and several nieces and nephews whom he loved.
