Larry Joseph Paul was born in Evansville, Indiana on July 25, 1949 to Marvin U. Paul and Bernadette (Wannemuehler) Paul. He attended Rex Mundi and was a 1968 graduate of North High School. Larry went on to receive his Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from the University of Southern Indiana. He retired as a Program Director from Vanderburgh County Superior Court. Larry was an avid reader, enjoyed woodworking, fly fishing in the mountains, cycling, target shooting, hiking the trails of USI, volunteering for the Vanderburgh Humane Society (VHS), and was a fixer-of-all-things. Above all else, Larry loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Larry is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sue (Ogura) Paul; son, Jay Paul (Kendall); and daughter, Valerie Romano (Dominick); mother, Bernadette Paul; sisters, Barbara Maynard, Kathy Barnett (Steve), Diane Benfield (Gordon), Judy Lepley (Billy Hubacheck), and Mary Lee Colvin (Tony); brother-in-law, James D. Ogura (Melissa), sister-in-law, Linda Ogura; grandchildren, Addison and Mason Paul, Nora and Eric Romano,; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Larry was preceded in death by his father, Marvin; grandparents, Joseph and Rosella Paul and Joe & Clothilda Wannemuehler; brothers-in-law, Gary Ogura and Robert Ogura.
A Funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday April 18, 2023 at Alexander Funeral Home West Chapel, 2100 W. Illinois Street, Evansville, IN 47712. Friends may visit from 12 noon until service time.
