She worked for the Fredrick Cigar Factory and Woolworth. Laura was known for being strong and feisty, not one to back down from anything. She enjoyed gardening and canning. Laura also enjoyed sewing, quilting, and embroidery. She loved dogs and enjoyed her alone time.
Laura was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William; sister, Ruth Fuquay; and brothers, Frank and Edward Fuquay.
She is survived by her sons, Gary Blankenship and Bruce Blankenship (Anne); grandchildren, Michael Blankenship, Laura Meador (Nick), Robert Blankenship, Jennifer Davis (Jarrod); eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 12:00-1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 6, 2020 at Alexander East Chapel. Burial will follow at Gentryville Garden of Memory.
