

Laverne Robert Peerman, 87, of Evansville, passed away Thursday, April 14, 2016, at Deaconess Hospital. He was born February 26, 1929, in Vanderburgh County, to the late James L. and Olga (Heneisen) Peerman.
He was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church. He retired from the E.V.S.C. and taught at Howard Roosa and Scott Schools for 16 years each. His memberships include N.E.A. (Lifetime), Indiana State Retired Teachers and he was a past president of Phi Delta Kappa. He was active in ETA and NEA, enjoyed bowling, baseball, hunting and fishing.
Laverne was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Peerman; and sisters, Evelyn Crane and Ruth Jane Douthitt.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Wilma “Joyce” (Foster) Peerman; son, Glen R. Peerman (Brenda); daughter, Julie Ann Peerman; and grandchildren, Jeffrey Peerman and Meredith Wyatt (Devin).
Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at Alexander North Chapel, 4200 Stringtown Road, officiated by Rev. Ferd Elfreich, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit Tuesday from 2:00 to 7:00 PM, and Wednesday from 9:00 AM to service time at the funeral home.
