

He was a US Army Veteran of WWII. He was Vice President and Partner of RuVan/ProForm, Inc., retiring in 1991 after 45 years in the industry. He was a member of the Society of Plastic Engineers and a pioneer in extrusion plastics in this area. He was a member of Heritage Baptist Church since 1954 and served as a Deacon and Treasurer. He enjoyed country living and St. Louis Cardinal baseball, but his greatest passions were serving God, devoting time to his family, and working hard in his occupation.
Lawrence is survived by his wife, Erma Jean Courtney; daughter, Joyce Clark (Mike) of Evansville; sons, Byron Courtney (Laura) of Newburgh, Roger Courtney (Sharon) of Owensville, IN, and Robin Courtney (Ginger) of Evansville; grandchildren, Angela Courtney, Pamela Henry, Melissa McCutchan (Mark) and Brock Courtney (Salena); eight great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, November 13, 2010, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Rev. Maurice Melton with burial in Park Lawn Cemetery. Friends may visit Friday from 3:00 to 8:00 PM and Saturday from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Rieti, Dr. Jerry Best, and the nursing staff at St. Mary’s Medical Center for their exceptional guidance and care.
