Bro we had a friendship like I've never had with anyone else.your the only friend who would always try to get me to come hang out.you was also the only friend ide drop everything to drive out of state just to hang out with if only for a one night .heck even only for a couple hours.remember when we went to that cave,bro we had a good time that weakend.i met your girl or soon to be wife for the first time,I don't think she liked me much, probably because she thought we was going to to get in trouble or something when we was together..I always told you that..and you always said your one of my best friends sambo and I don't have many friends.then you would talk me into coming to see ya,not that it took much talking.then when we did see each other it was nothing but joking around..you making fun about me and me the same about you.i still remember the look on her face when I showed up at the lake to check out your boat.lol.guess you didn't tell her I was coming.we didn't catch any fish,you lost a new broke back craink bait.in fact we spent more time fishing for it then we did for fish.bro we had lots of fun.i wish your wife knew me better and knew that I never steered you in the wrong direction and always was who you talked to about your problems and issues that you felt you wanted me to know about because you knew I'd tell you how it was without sugar coating it .same as you did when ide talk to you.i remember when you called me telling about a conversation you heard on the radio,about Chuck and his truck and Sam who don't give a dam.we laughed and laughed,and you said your wife and a couple others didn't think it was funny  so you called me to see if I thought it was .I still have that half of that Cuban cigar you had and saved for  so we both enjoy smoking a real Cuban.. wish I would of talked to you longer on phone that night you died bro.i tried to call u rite back u didn't answer,I'm sorry for not being there when you needed me most.I miss you bro.biggg time bro.

I remember when Shawn first came to my church at Bethel Pentecostal.  Such a fun loving person, loved to laugh and make others laugh.  We will all miss you Shawn.  Vicki,i love you dearly and Sarah and Ashby,i LOVE you too.          Jodi Goebel

Shawn came to evansville and my husband and he became friends.  They rode their motorcycles togather and he sometimes just came over to hangout (this meant better be good food!)  He bought us Christmas presents cause he loved Christmas.   I was shocked.  He had thoughtfully picked out a present for every member of our family. I'll never forget his confiding in us of some hard times.  Then came the night of his first date with Sarah. He brought her to our house that night and I could see true happiness.  As she went out of the room he said well what do you think?  I remember telling him she's a keeper.  We were soon invited tk a wedding and I had the privilege of watching Ashby often during the first year.  I saw first hand what an amazing Dad Shawn was!  We went camping and boating with them and Shawn always made everything so much fun.  I remember him learning to water ski for first time and the thing that sticks with me is he kept trying until he got it.  Nothing was going to keep him from success.   They say dogs know true character well his loved him and never wanted to be away from his side.  Shawn never saw me without teasing me about being older,  now I cry cause your too young.  I'm really glad you introduced me to Sarah Shawn I now have a dear friend for life.

When I was little he took me to the zoo, I ended up crying because my feet hurt, he recorded a video of it and showed it to the whole family. He'd always manage to tease me every single time we were together and yell "my feet hurt" mocking how I sounded,and one year during winter he made a snowman and put a hat on it and a scarf and gave it a beer. Me and Kaitlyn thought it was really funny.

I met Shawn at Galena Park High School in Houston, Tx. It was my 9th grade year and a friend and I were singing Jeremy by Pearl Jam and the boy sitting next to us was quietly singing along. From that day on we were inseparable. We hung out before school listening to Metallica and Alice in Chains on our walkman cassette players and watched Beavis And Butthead at my aunts house after school. He moved to Missouri shortly after and we reconnected on Facebook about 12 years later. We talked on the phone a lot and I will cherish those phone calls forever!! I miss him with all my heart!! I love you Shawn!

Sarah......I am so very heartbroken for you.  I'll be thinking and praying for you, Ashby, and all of those in your family.......

Sweet Ashby, I didn't know your Daddy well, I'd only met him one time at your Mommy's and my 10 year Bosse High School reunion. I do remember his smile and the laughter he shared with us all that evening. He was friendly, kind, and stood out in the crowd (in a positive way). There was something different about your Dad, but that evening I couldn't put my finger on it, until now...He had a heart that was fervently seeking God. I remember how he looked at your Mom. He had unconditional love written in his eyes. Your Mom looked at him the same way. I can honestly say, I had never witnessed such a pure smile on your Mom's face until that night. Your Dad wasn't significant in my life, but he left a significant memory from just one passing moment. I pray you have the same affect on others as your Daddy did and that you too seek God and all the blessings He has already paved the way for.
