

She was a graduate of Reitz High School. During her grade school and teenage years, Linda worked in her mother’s restaurant and loved socializing with patrons and friends. She married her high school sweetheart Jack L. Hartig while he was serving in the U.S. Air Force. Linda was a devoted, loving, and caring mother and grandmother. She volunteered for many years as a Girl Scout leader, room mother, and popcorn lady. Linda was a talented crafter and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, quilting, embroidery, and ceramics. She loved her little dog Cindy. She enjoyed being with people, never met a stranger and will be missed.
Linda is survived by her husband of 59 years, Jack L. Hartig; children, Michele Vanhooser (David), Jacqueline Hickrod (Todd), and Gary D. Hartig (Gina), and grandchildren, Jennifer Scott (Ryan), Stephen Vanhooser, Jordan Hartig, Krista Kercher (John), and Garrett Hartig.
Funeral Services will be 11:00AM, Friday, April 15, 2016, at Alexander Memorial Park, 2200 Mesker Park Dr., officiated by Rev. Terry Gamblin, with entombment in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit 4:00 to 8:00 PM, Thursday, at Alexander North Chapel, 4200 Stringtown Road, and Friday from 10:00 AM to service at the cemetery.
