Lois A. Mackey, formerly of Celina, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at The Monticello House in Anderson, IN. She was born on September 16, 1928, in Ritchie County, WV to Sherman E. Sr. and Hazel O. (Satterfield) Mackey.
Lois graduated from the University of Toledo and retired from Owens Corning Fiberglas in Toledo, OH. Before that she lived many years in Columbus, OH, where she worked first for Nationwide Insurance and then The Ohio State University College of Social Work. She could pilot a plane, liked sailing and loved to travel.
She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Sherman E. Jr. and Rose Mackey; niece and nephew, Linda Cates and Richard Mackey; great-nieces and nephews, Jami Cates, Michael Mackey, Debra Loera, Amanda Mull, Cathy Albers, Justin Mackey and Christina Mackey; and several great-great-nieces and nephews.
A private funeral service and burial will be held Saturday, March 15, 2014, at Alexander Memorial Park Heritage Chapel in Evansville, IN.
