

Eleanor “Lori” Svea Kutlich of Evansville, greatly loved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away at the age of 81 on Wednesday, May 10 2023, at Linda E. White Hospice House. She was born in Flora, IL on September 28, 1941, the daughter of the late Leo and Eleanor Kutlich. A graduate of North High School, she continued her education at Indiana University graduating with honors and completed a graduate fellowship at USC Berkeley, An artist, conversationalist and mathematician, she was honored to be a member of Phi Beta Kappa and never lost her thirst for knowledge.
Lori spent most of her life in Evansville. As a business owner she established a successful computer programming company developing software for various industries. She loved getting lost in the patterns of numbers as she developed programs to assist businesses run efficiently.
A lifelong lover of plants and nature, Lori took great pride in gardening. She always maintained a beautiful yard, growing all varieties of plants, flowers and vegetables. She enjoyed long walks in the woods, studying and identifying every plant she encountered.
A reader and collector, she had a great love for books and antiques. She enjoyed exploring the shelves of Willard Library, going to auctions and owned an antique shop when she retired. She was a fierce Scrabble player and worked the New York Times crossword puzzle every Sunday.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Eleanor Kutlich.
She is survived by her daughter Alycia Williams (Trey) and grandson Jacob of Summerville SC, sister Julie McKinney of Savannah GA, brothers, Lee Kutlich of Long Beach, CA, and John Kutlich (Rhonda) of Evansville. She dearly loved her nieces and nephew, Lori, Amy, Julie Ann, and Zack.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday June 24, 2023 at McCutchanville Cemetery.
