Malinda "Linda" L. Whipkey

Born and raised in the Pittsburgh, PA area; Linda met the love of her life, Jim, in 1954 and married the same year. They moved the family; sons James II and Bruce K, to Evansville in 1960. Her daughter, Carol D. was added to the family in 1963. Linda always took great pride in her husband, children, and home. As the family grew older, she began working in the accounting department at Sears from which she retired. Always active in her church; Old North United Methodist Church, she was always available for anyone in need. Her love and dedication to her family will be missed by all.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents and brother, James K. Lamp, Jr. (Jeanette).

She is survived by her husband of 69 years, James T. Whipkey, Sr.; sons, James T. Whipkey II (Diane) and Bruce K. Whipkey (Leslie); daughter, Carol D. Whipkey (Sheila); grandson, A.J. (Chelsea); granddaughter, Sarah (Jon); grandson, Michael (Nisha); and grandson, Tim. She is also survived by four great grandchildren, Daniel, Isabelle, Liam, and Briella.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 3, 2024 at Alexander North Chapel, with private family burial to follow. Friends and family may visit from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Chemo Buddies of Evansville or Vanderburgh Humane Society.
