Margaret L. Jones

Margaret Lee (Sanders-Van Zandt) Jones, 97, of Evansville, Indiana, died May 5, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. Margaret was born to William Franklin "Frank" and Virginia "Geneva" (Williams) Sanders in Evansville Indiana December 12, 1916.

Margaret retired from Simpsons Food Market in meat processing. She became an avid bowler in her "golden years". She also loved to travel and spend time with her family. She married the "love of her life" in those golden years as well, Willard Jones.

Margaret was preceded in death by first husband, Walter Henry Martin Van Zandt; and then Willard; son, Donald Ray Van Zandt; and two granddaughters.

She is survived by sons, Walter Jr. Van Zandt of Evansville IN, Gary (Deborah) Van Zandt of Newburgh IN, and Edward (Debra) Van Zandt of Newburgh IN; step-children, Gregg (Anne) Jones and Judy (Clint) Woolsey; grandchildren, Paula (Frank) Berris, Julie (Bruce) Crider, James Van Zandt, Tracy (Jon) Ruge, Heather (Jeff) Greenwell, Brent (Amy) Van Zandt, Eric (Erica) Mitz and Kristopher (Jennifer) Van Zandt; 22 great- grandchildren, Matthew, Brandon, Jonathon, Jacob, Spencer, Adam, Ellen, Hannah, Emily, Owen, John David, Henry, Theodore, Mary Catherine, Anna, Margaret, Kaitelyn, Andrew, Carl, Casey, Jonathon, and Christian; and 4 great, great-grandchildren, Keelan, Garret, Grayson, and Blair; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be 10:00 Friday, May 9, 2014, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Rev. Dennis R. Davenport, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM and Friday from 9:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
