Margie I. Barney

Margie graduated from Owensville High School. She was dedicated to helping people and worked in the healthcare industry for 30 years. She was a nursing assistant at Deaconess Hospital the last 10 years of her career. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and caregiver. Margie loved traveling with her husband and was very proud to have visited all 50 US states and 9 other countries.

Margie is survived by her husband of 64 years, Larry Barney; daughter, Angela Williams (Dennis); son, Brad Barney; daughter, Kim Conner (Scott); grandchildren, Jennifer Hortness (Chris), Jeffrey Williams, Taylor Barney (Corey Walters), Matthew Conner (Eliza), and Amanda Conner; great-grandchildren, Brenden, Hayden, Logan, Phoenix, Laira, Vann, Lucy, Hadley, Aislynn and Zelda; sisters-in-law, Sandy Howell and Donna Barney; and brother-in-law, Jr. Barney.

Memorial contributions may be made in Margie’s memory to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer’s Association.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, July 21, 2025 at Alexander Memorial Park Chapel of Remembrance, 2200 Mesker Park Drive, Evansville IN, officiated by Chaplain Randy Bechtel.

Friends may visit on Sunday, July 20, 2025 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Alexander West Chapel, 2100 W. Illinois Street, and Monday from 12:30 pm until service time in the Chapel of Remembrance at Alexander Memorial Park. Burial will be held at Alexander Memorial Park.
