

Marlene Gayle (Hollingsworth) Geier of Evansville, Indiana passed away on Saturday, December 27 at the age of 94. She was born on December 2, 1931 in Evansville, Indiana, where she grew up and lived most of her adult life in rural Evansville.
She graduated from F.J. Reitz High School in 1949 and Lockyear Business College. She worked as a Licensed Insurance Agent for Torian Insurance for many years until her retirement.
Marlene loved the Lord and was an active member of Bible Fellowship Hour and Bethel Church. She loved worshiping with her friends and studying God’s word. She played the piano for worship services and gospel singers and gospel instrumental groups. She was actively involved in line dancing and also enjoyed angel figurines and artwork. Marlene loved the outdoors and traveling, including trips to Alaska, Hawaii, and Europe. She was also a huge FJ Reitz football fan and booster.
Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, Vaden and Edith Hollingsworth, and by her husband, Robert Geier.
Marlene is survived by her brother, Neal Hollingsworth (Rhonda) and her six children: Tony Scott (Judy), Steve Scott (Mary), Pam Harper, Tim Scott, Kelly (Slear) Crump (Chris), and Jason Scott (Sarah), as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 5, 2026, at Alexander West Chapel, 2100 W. Illinois St., Evansville, officiated by Pastor David Schwambach and live-streamed at www.facebook.com/FuneralStreamUSA
Entombment will follow the service in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends and family may visit from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 4, 2025 and from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Monday at the funeral home.
