Martha E. Byers

Martha E. Byers, 85, of Evansville, passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2020. She was born August 23, 1934 in Huntingburg, IN to the late John and Opal (Krutz) Sibrel. She was an active member at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, where she participated in Bible study, Lifelight and the food pantry. She loved spending time with her family. Martha was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Dr. E.J. Schlegel and three brothers. She is survived by daughters, Christi Byers and Shari Case; son, Luke Byers; grandchildren, Erica Punke, Adam Case, Oliva Halsten, Robert Byers, Mariana Arias and Christopher Woolsey, and 10 great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the Oncology Unit 6 East at St. Vincent for their care and kindness. A Memorial Service will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 100 E. Michigan Street. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Food Bank.
