

Martha attended Columbia and Baker grade schools, and Central High School. She retired from Buehler's Buy-Low in 1999. She was a life-member of Abundant Faith Church. She enjoyed reading and studying her Bible, gardening, cooking, and being a great homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rufus and Ruby Welch; brothers, Charles Welch, John Welch, and Reuben Welch; grandsons, Joseph Gray and Danny Cook; granddaughters, Jaclyn Jochem and Autumn Gray.
Martha is survived by her husband of 58 years, William E. Gray; her dog, Annie; daughter, Debbie (Larry) Jochem; sons, Ken (Jami) Gray, and Billy Gray; grandchildren, Charlie (Andrea) Butler, Megan (Chuck) Johnson, Melissa (Derick) Joines, Kenny (Sabrina) Gray, Tyler Gray, Trentyn (Felisha) Weber, Trey Sayles, Dalton (Sarah) Gray, Brooke Gray, Brianna Gray and Daniel Feller; great-grandchildren, Emily Schaffer, Kiersten, Shelby, and Aleana Butler, Madeline, Madison, Dayton Gray and Joey Sterns, Quinn (Jake) Martin, Parker, Ruby, Roman Joines, Addie, Macy, Kenny Jr, Isaiah, Luke and Hazel; 12 great -great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to Abundant Faith Church.
A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 24, 2024 at Alexander East Chapel, 2115 Lincoln Avenue, Evansville, IN officiated by Pastor James Maroney. Burial will follow at Alexander Memorial Park Cemetery.
Family and friends may visit on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Thursday, from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home
