

Mary Anna Spangler, 84, of Evansville, passed away Saturday, September 7, 2013. She was born the first of six children in 1929 to Gilbert and Stella (Norvell) Schofield. In 1952 she married Paul Spangler, and they enjoyed 43 years of marriage before he preceded her in death in 1995. She is also preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Ralph Schofield; and two sisters, Thelma Kissel and Dorothy Patton.
Mary Anna was a long-time member of McCutchanville Community Church and very involved before becoming ill. She had retired from working at Evansville Transfer and Storage in 1993. She spent the next years doing some traveling with her husband and always enjoyed working in her garden and flowerbeds. She was the organizer and chef for many church and family gatherings, and she truly enjoyed serving family and friends.
She is survived by daughters, Rose Mary (Wayne) Feldhaus and Martha (Denis) Racster all of Evansville; son, Tim Spangler of Boonville, IN; three grandchildren, Jeffrey (Jane) Feldhaus of Newburgh, Jessica (Wes) Coffman of Pendleton, IN, and Laura Racster of New Braunfels, TX; and five cherished great grandchildren.
Services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 10, 2013, at McCutchanvile Community Church – McJohnston Chapel, with burial at the church cemetery. Friends may visit Monday from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at Alexander North Chapel, 4200 Stringtown Road.
