

She was an active and dedicated member of Zion Missionary Baptist Church. Mary was an avid gardener, a hard worker, an excellent cook and caregiver, and went out of her way for anyone. She loved fishing and she loved, loved her grand and great-grandchildren. She worked at Seton Manor, now St. Mary’s Medical Center, Evansville Protestant Home, and then became a Private Sitter.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Walker; sons, James E. Walker and Scott B. Walker; four sisters, Rosetta, Doshia, Annie and Mandy; and brothers, Robert, Frank, Johnnie and Peter.
She leaves behind cherished memories for her son, Joe E. Walker; grandchildren, Ka’Meelah A. Martin, Michael J. (LaRhonda) Walker, Sr. and Khristapher M. (Fron-Shea) Walker, all of Evansville; special niece, Renatte Boyd; a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and special friend, Peggy Gulley.
The family wishes to give special thanks to Deaconess Gateway and Deaconess Hospice for the care they provided Mary.
Services will be 11:00 AM Friday, June 21, 2013, at Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 1800 South Governor Street, officiated by Rev. R.V. Terry, with burial in Locust Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the church.
