Mazie was married to the late Howard “Bud” Tindle for 71 years. Together they enjoyed dancing and spending time at a river camp. After retirement, they spent many winters in Florida. Mazie worked at a sewing job for about 10 years and then worked at Bernardin for 38 years. Her hobbies were growing flowers, watching birds, making crafts, and solving word puzzles. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, and supported many charities; one of her favorites was Wounded Warrior Project.
Mazie was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Knight of Evansville and Patricia Gould of Illinois; and nephew Rodney (Linda) Knight of Newburgh. She is survived by a sister, Madeline Brasher of Tennessee; and cousins, Jimmie Rodgers and Mary Ann Baker of Illinois. Eleven nieces and nephews also survive her, including the following who live in Evansville: Jerry (Janice) Knight; Thomas (Kathy) Knight; Richard (Debra) Knight; Sheree (Harold) Paulson; and Jeffrey (Betsy) Knight. Many others know her as Aunt Maizie, as she has over 20 great nieces and nephews and over 30 great-great nieces and nephews.
Mazie will be remembered as kind, beautiful, gracious, independent, and strong. In her honor, we ask that you share smiles and kind words with others every day.
There will be no visitation or funeral service. Entombment to be at Alexander Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project in her memory.
