She was a member of United Methodist Women and belonged to Methodist Temple United Methodist Church. She retired from the State Hospital. She enjoyed playing bridge and was a leader in the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts.
Melba was preceded in death by her son, Elliott Lockett in 2006.
She is survived by her daughters, Carol Beth (Larry) Hensley and Mary Lockett; son, Ken Lockett; grandchildren, Janelle and Mark Hensley; great-granddaughter, Autumn Hensley; and sister-in-law, Eva Ruth Andes.
Services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, April 5, 2014, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Pastor Steve Beutler. Friends may visit Saturday from 11:30 AM to service time at the funeral home.
