Melinda A. Moye Hoefling

Melinda was a loving homemaker.

She was a life-long member of St. Benedict Cathedral where she had been a Junior Member of the Legion of Mary and volunteered in many areas at the church and school.

Melinda was a Raintree Council Girl Scout Leader of Troop 59 and was a cookie chairman.

She was a Vanderburgh County 4-H Junior Leader.

Melinda enjoyed a variety of crafts, especially Cross Stitch.

She was preceded in death by her father, Yuell C. Moye, Jr.; nephew, David Turpen; and grandparents, Yuell and Emma Moye and A.J. and Mary Curtiss.

Melinda is survived by her husband of 11 years, Gene L. Hoefling; son, Christopher Hoefling; daughter, Elizabeth Hoefling all of Evansville; step-daughter, Amanda Hoefling of Minneapolis, MN; mother, Catharyne Moye of Evansville; sisters, Rebecca Hunsinger of Evansville and Carolyn (Ray) Becker of Jacksonville, FL; brother, Yuell “Clark” Moye and Robert “Bob” Moye all of Evansville; father and mother-in-law; Fred and Carolyn Hoefling; sisters-in-law, Susan (Ed) Anderson and Laura (Vincent) Zeles; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be 9:00 AM Tuesday, September 21, 2010, at St. Benedict Cathedral, 1328 Lincoln Avenue, officiated by Father Gregory Chamberlin, OSB, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may visit Monday from 2:00 to 8:00 PM with a Memorial Service at 7:00 PM at Alexander East Chapel and Tuesday from 8:00 until service time at the church.
