Michael Gates

Michael graduated from Reitz High School, Class of 1978.

He was a painter and dry wall finisher and was a member of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades District Council 91.

Michael was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Gates; grandparents, Karl and Mary Zeidler, James A. and Una Gates, and John and Marie Gish.

He is survived by his mother, Judith King (Bill) of Newburgh; daughter, Alicia Dimmett; sons, Sean Gates (Ivy) and Bradley Gates; fiancée, Cathy Kasinger; sister, Susan Beste all of Evansville; sister, Tonya Johnson (Nick) of NC; brother, Kelly King of Evansville; grandchildren, Lyrick, Jourdyn Lee, Eli, and Brentley; nephew, Joshua Beste (Jessica); cousins, Jodi Monarch (Jim Cockrell), Mindy Hassler (Steve), Stacy Effinger, Kenny Gates (Michele), Jeff Gates (Mandy), Robbie Gates (Robyn) and Lisa and James Gates; special friend, Elizabeth Blanchette; uncle, Kenneth Gates (Patty), uncle, James Gates (Zelda); aunt, Karlene Monarch (Ron), and numerous friends and co-workers.

Services will be 1:00 PM Thursday, January 24, 2013, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Gene and Rosemary Lloyd, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and Thursday, from Noon until service time at the funeral home.
