

Nancy Kay Purtzer went home to be with her Lord Jesus on Sunday, May 19, 2024. She died at Linda White Hospice House surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 30, 1956, in Evansville, Indiana, to Werner and Lue Purtzer.
She was a member of The Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer where she helped with Vacation Bible School. She graduated from IUPUI and spent her career as a registered nurse. Nancy especially enjoyed her time at the Deaconess Surgery Center – Main Campus. She enjoyed quilting, reading, and spending time with her niece and nephews.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by four sisters; Mary Purtzer, Vickie Heilmann (Eric), and Patty McGuire of Newburgh; and Lori Purtzer of Louisville, Kentucky. Nancy is also survived by her niece, Marcie Mickel (Billy) and nephews, Derek Heilmann (Jeri), Nicholas Heilmann (Kristy), Andrew McGuire, and Luke McGuire.
There will be a service celebrating Nancy’s life at 11:00 a.m. at The Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer on Saturday, May 25, 2024 with Pastor Tom Wenig officiating. Friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the church. A graveside burial will take place at 2:00 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Evanston, Indiana.
