I met Nate through music, I was instantly amazed at his musicianship and how fantastic he played the bass guitar. I've never encountered anyone with such a unique writing style either, he was an amazing writer! Once he came to practice with a complete song written on the inside of a brown paper grocery sack, the entire song came to him and he stopped at a stop sign and wrote it down! Lyrics, notes everything! I moved to Florida a few years ago and unfortunately lost contact with Nate but he will truly be missed. I think about him all the time. Prayers to his family from ours.

My name is Alice Nichols.  I came to know Nathaniel back in the 50s when our family attended the small Mission that his Dad Amos Ipock pastored...Our family got to know the family and enjoyed them for years since.  We called Nat 
Butterball back then.  

Since retirement we  live  in Bradenton Florida.  Nat and his Cheryl came to visit us.  That is the last time i saw him.  

The Ipock family means so much to me and my family.  Am sure you will miss Butterball.  Would love to be there with you but miles separate us.

He has gone to join his Dad, grandmother, my husband, Mr & Mrs Brumley and many others gone on before him...

I first met Nate at a meeting of the International Brotherhood of Magicians Ring 56. Many called him Nat, although he preferred Nate, so he gave us an easy reminder. He said, "Just remember Nate the Great". And we did, and always will, remember Nate the Great.

My prayers are with the family at this difficult time. Nate was a fellow magician and he will be missed.

I am sorry to hear of the loss of your husband and father. Always remember the great times your family was together  and it will help with the healing.

Nat was always the same and  always had a smile. Cheryl and children, Aunt Bonnie, Hannah and Mike, I am so sorry for your loss. May God wrap his arms around you and give you comfort and strength in the days to come. 
I remember when Nat and Cheryl would bring Aunt Bonnie on a Sunday morning to our church but one morning we had a storm, the power went out, we didn't spend any time together that day. The wind was so strong, Nat went back to Evansville.

I remember how Nat treated people right, and had a wonderful sense of humor. I am smiling as I remember him wearing that ball cap with "thinking cap" written on it.  He was a really good bass player and singer. And he really loved Jesus and his family!
