

Nathaniel Lee “Nate” Moorman, 89, of Evansville, IN passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at his home with family by his side. He was born on June 14, 1935, in Evansville, IN to the late Cicero Napoleon and Willie Jane (Talbert) Moorman.
Nate graduated from Lincoln High School in 1953. After graduation, he worked as a barber for 55 years, starting at Jr’s Barber Shop in Indianapolis, IN and from Moorman’s Barber Shop in Evansville. He then in the early 1990’s, owned and operated A Touch of Class Limousine Service, providing excellent service to the community for many years until his retirement. Nate was a devoted husband and jazz enthusiast.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Samuel Moorman, Sr. and Donald F. Moorman, Edward Moorman and Cicero Moorman.
Nate is survived by his beloved wife of 46 and a half years, Teresa L. (Amonette) Moorman; sons, Glen Birch (Kay), Robin Moorman, Lee Moorman; daughter, Diane Johnson; step-son, James Moore (Natalie); daughter, Lorie Baker (Shelly); son, Nathaniel Moorman, Jr.; daughters, Kim and Debbie; grandchildren, Andrew Moore, Makalia Clegg, Aries Moore, Anabelle Moore, Jordan Moorman, Tiffany Wallace, Kaden Spradlin, and Trinity Troxail; sisters, Portia Cook, Cyverta Moorman- Massey; nieces, Sherilla Holland,and Felicia Davis; sisters-in-law, Pam Amonette (who was also a caregiver to Nate) and Sandra Amonette; brother-in-law, Bill Amonette (Janice) along with a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many dear family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Alexander East Chapel, 2115 Lincoln Avenue, Evansville, IN 47714.
