Nell Kranawetter Arbeiter passed away on December 24, 2024 in Evansville, IN. Her life of 99 years was well lived starting at her birth on April 14,1925 in Jacob, Illinois. She was the fourth of 9 children born to Benjamin and Frieda (Stueve) Kranawetter. She married the love of her life, Clarence Arbeiter, her childhood friend and sweetheart on August 30, 1944 at Christ Lutheran Evangelical Church in Nennert, IL. They enjoyed 72 happy years together before his death in 2016. Nell worked at different office jobs through her life starting during WWII at the Ameritorp Company in St. Louis, and later in Evansville at Evana Tool Company and at the Abby Gift Shop. But her greatest work was in the gifts given to her children, her quilts and the dresses she sewed, the great cooking and bread making, gardening, and most importantly her example of a walk in faith.
Nell was a long time member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and participated in the choir, prayer circle, Women’s' Guild and the Quilting Circle. She enjoyed camping with her family and the friendships of the Couples Club at Redeemer. She was always a lively personality and maintained an upbeat attitude toward life into her nineties. And she could sing by heart all the great old Gospel songs.
Her five children survive her: Yvonne Joyner, Joyce Donaldson (Greg), Bruce Arbeiter (Kay), Cheryl Walker, and Brian Arbeiter (Shana); eight grandchildren, Jeff Joyner, Carson Joyner (Kacie), Justin Donaldson (Elizabeth), Nicholas Donaldson (Sila), Jarrod Walker (Jessica Orr), Brodie Arbeiter (Kyler), Brayden Arbeiter (Noelle) and Shelby Kirkland (Mark). Her legacy continues on to her eight great grandchildren.
She is loved and remembered by her extended family and friends who all know she is enjoying a life eternal with her Lord and with Clarence in the heavenly kingdom.
A Funeral Service will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2024 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1811 Lincoln Avenue Evansville, IN 47714 with Reverend Dr. Thomas Wenig officiating. Friends and family may visit from 10:30 a.m. until service time at the church. Entombment will follow at Park Lawn Cemetery.
