Pat was a loving, faithful wife and lived her life for her children and grandchildren. She graduated from Allen County High School, Scottsville, KY. After graduation she worked for the Glasgow, KY Cable before moving to Evansville in 1968, where she met her future husband, Gene at Permanent Federal Savings Bank where they both worked. Pat was a teller at the Ross Center Branch. They were married in 1969 at Terrace Parke Baptist Church. Pat sang in the choir and was a youth group leader for several years.
Pat and Gene raised 3 sons, Terry, Craig, and Robbie on the Evansville north side. Pat served as president of the Thompkins PTA. She sang in a gospel trio and performed in many weddings and funerals. She loved playing piano and singing gospel songs. The Gaither broadcasts were her favorite.
Pat was a doer. She was never afraid to tackle any project she deemed necessary. She was often called “Lucy” and Donna Cato was her “Ethel”. They were hilarious. Pat was a sports enthusiast. She played high school basketball while also playing co-ed softball until age 55. She and Gene enjoyed watching the IU & Purdue basketball games. She did not like watching golf on TV as it was too slow a sport for her enjoyment. Nevertheless, she and Gene attended a number of PGA events, she followed Tiger Woods.
Pat enjoyed the many cruises and conventions they attended. She was vice president and secretary of Frank Insurance Services. She enjoyed her Vegas trips as well as Tunica and the local casino. When her health allowed, she faithfully attended her sons’ and grandchildren’s events at Central High School. She was especially proud of having several Kiwanis Award winners as well as Robbie and Faith having coaching positions for the baseball and basketball teams.
Pat especially enjoyed family gatherings and the opportunity to provide the meal which she had prepared. She daily worked her crossword puzzles and became a daily viewer of western TV shows and game shows during her illness. For the past 15 years she enjoyed the Florida vacations at The Villages and the many friends living there.
Pat daily and dearly missed her Craig, as she offered a daily prayer to God to be reunited with him. Today they are reunited.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents; son, Craig Frank; sister, Charlcie (Dewey); and brothers, Darrell Johnson (Sharon), Pete Johnson (Emma), and David Johnson.
