Patricia Joan Thompson

Patricia Joan Thompson, 86, formerly of Evansville, passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2016. She last resided at Hoosier Village in Indianapolis, IN. She was born July 8, 1930, in Paoli, IN, to the late Leslie and Bertha Hickman.

She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana State University and a Master’s degree from Indiana University. She taught elementary school for many years in the Evansville-Vanderburgh School Corporation. Patricia belonged to the Methodist Temple in Evansville. She was also a member of the Evansville Retired Teachers Association, the Indiana Retired Teachers Association, and Three Arts. For many years, she was an active member of Washington Avenue Presbyterian Church (now closed), where she served as both a Deacon and an Elder.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Scott Thompson; her daughter and son-in-law, Jane Ann and Scott D. Himsel of Indianapolis; her sister, Jean Crowe of Macomb, IL; and several nieces and nephews. Her parents and other siblings preceded her in death.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM, Friday, September 9, 2016, at Alexander East Chapel officiated by Rev. Andy Payton with burial in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit 10:00 AM until service time on Friday at the funeral home.
