

He enlisted in the Marines when he was 17, was a World War II and Korean War Veteran, served in the C Company and Military Police, where he earned the Purple Heart and three Combat Stars. He graduated from Central High School and the University of Evansville, and went on to become Whirlpool’s plant facility engineer for 43 years. Paul invested his talents in the design of numerous churches, homes and businesses, established Toys for Tots, enjoyed genealogy, and was instrumental in the development of the Evansville Korean War Monument. He was a member of VFW Post 1114 and a lifelong member of Oak Hill Church of Christ.
Paul is preceded in death by his wife, Mary McDaniel.
His life and memory will be especially treasured by daughters, Paula G. Hunt and Terri Dickman; son, Mark (Lynn) McDaniel; grandchildren, Shawn (Ricky) Blanford, Cindy (Chuck) Taylor, Jessica (Kyle) Bryant, Joshua Paul (Ashleigh) Dickman, Amber M. Dickman, and Haley Hunt, 10 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be 11:30 AM, Saturday, March 5, 2016, at Alexander North Chapel, 4200 Stringtown Road, with burial at 1:00 PM in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and Saturday from 10:30 AM to service time.
