

Phyllis (Igleheart) Kerdasha, 88, of Evansville, passed away Friday, January 15, 2016, at her home. She was born March 9, 1927, in Evansville to the late Edgar and Aline (Elles) Igleheart, making her a descendent of one of Evansville’s original founding families.
She graduated from Baldwin School in Bryn Mawr, PA in 1944. Afterwards, she attended the University of Southern California and NY School of Interior Design. She lived in Europe for several years. Upon returning to Evansville, she was associated with her aunt’s business, Evaline Karges Interiors. She married Robert G.F. Lewis of Washington, D.C., and lived there until his death. She was married again to Robert Kerdasha of New York City and lived there until they both returned to Evansville. He passed away in 1989. Phyllis was always interested in the arts and was involved with YWCA and the Reitz Home Museum. She was a member of the Evansville Museum, Evansville Country Club, and Kennel Club. She also belonged to the Surf Club and Indian Creek Club, both in Miami Beach, FL. In addition, she was also founder of the Aline and Edgar Igleheart foundation, an arboretum, gardens, and bird sanctuary in memory of her parents.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her brother, Edgar Igleheart; and her parents.
She is survived by her only daughter, Eve Kerdasha of Las Vegas, NV; brother, Addison (Debbie) Igleheart of Bloomfield Hills, MI; and five nieces.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date. No visitation will be held.
