

Deaconess Gateway. He was born April 2, 1922, in Evansville.
He was a 1942 graduate of Bosse High School and Mechanic Arts. During his high school days he worked as an usher at the Alhambra Theater and went on to be a long time motion picture projectionist having worked in every theater in Evansville from 1940 thru 1970. His last job as a projectionist was at the Lowe’s Victory. He also worked in several local manufacturing plants during WWII inspecting ammunition for the war effort.
Having lived in San Diego for several years, he returned there annually for vacation. This was a family car trip every year returning to Evansville via Las Vegas where he loved to visit.
Robert was preceded in death by his father and mother, John Robert Beatty and Margaret (Ashby) Beatty Koch; grandparents, with whom he lived, Attie and Cam Ashby; uncles, Cam Ashby, Jr. and Donald Ashby; and aunt, Frances Price.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Judith (Harrison) Beatty; one son, Donald Charles “Chuck” Beatty; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Donna and Larry Taylor; nieces, Kelly (Phill) Belcher and Lori (John) Elpers; nephew, Doug (Cheri) Taylor; great-nieces and nephews; four great-great-nieces; cousin, Margaret Ann Lant and her family, all of the Evansville area; and aunt, Betty Ashby of San Diego, CA.
Services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 13, 2011, at Alexander Memorial Park Chapel, officiated by Ken Karmire, with burial following. Friends may visit Tuesday from 9:00 AM until service time at the cemetery.
