

Robert was a past Master of Masonic Lodge #64 F & AM-1969 and a member for 49 years, past president of EAGMR and Kentucky Colonel. He was the Outstanding District Manager of Durkee Foods in 1974, One Ton Club, where he sold one ton of black pepper in 1978, he was the top performer of the year in 1987 with Durkee Foods and he received the Cooperative Merchandising Award in 1980. He spiced up the tri-state area for many years selling Durkee Spices.
He served in the Air Force from 1951-1955, and was a proud Korean Veteran.
Robert was a graduate of Central High School in 1951 and a Dale Carnegie graduate and also attended Evansville College.
He loved IU Basketball and Colts Football.
Robert is survived by his wife of 29 years, Audrey Cain; children, Robert D. Cain Jr. (Lynn) of Columbus, IN; Tami Conner (Randy) of Newburgh; Michael Cain of Evansville, Jonathan Cain (Karen) of Evansville, Geri Legate (Scott) of Evansville, and Michael Kane of Evansville; brother, Luther Cain of Evansville; grandchildren, Nathan Cain, Brian Cain, Anthony Kuhr, Nicholas Cain and Vallery Kane; nephew, Tony Cain (Alta) of Westfield, IN; and former wife, Marilyn Cain.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Fr. Steve Lintzenich, with military rites and burial in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit Monday from 3:00 to 7:00 PM with a Masonic Service at 7:00 PM, at the funeral home.
