

He was a World War II Navy veteran. Robert received his undergraduate degree from the University of Evansville and graduated from Indiana School of Dentistry in 1952 then worked as a dentist in Evansville for over 45 years. He served as a Coast Guard Auxiliary Floatilla Commander. He was the founding president of the Hadi Shrine Motor Patrol, which he was very active in and was a member of St. John’s U.C.C. East. He was very active in pediatric dentistry and traveled with the school corporation providing aid to children in need.
Robert is survived by his wife of 60 years, Barbara (Cale) Maxedon; son, Robert W. Maxedon III (Sherry); daughters, Elizabeth Maxedon Thomas, Penny Borden (Wayne) and Sherry Farrell (Brian); grandchildren, Molly and Kayla Maxedon, Tristan and Aubree Thomas, Jessica Borden, Shoshanah Atwell, Jay Hoffman and Sean and Arlow Farrell; great-grandchildren, Ben, Eli and Joseph Hoffman, Brant and Tiffany Atwell and Andro Farrell.
Funeral Services will be 12:00PM, Saturday, February 18, 2017, at Alexander North Chapel, 4200 Stringtown Road, officiated by Rev. Ken Townsend, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit 3:00PM to 7:00PM, Friday, February 17, 2017 at the funeral home. There will be a Masonic Service Friday at 7:00PM.
