Robert Gene Pfender Sr.

Robert Gene Pfender, Sr. 93, of Newburgh, passed away on Monday, October 4, 2021. He was born on June 6, 1928 in Evansville to the late Clarence and Hazel (Erk) Pfender. He retired from Coca Cola after 30 years. Robert was a member of Zion United Church of Christ in Newburgh, Indiana. He enjoyed gardening, camping, and takin off for a Sunday afternoon drive. Robert was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Robert is survived by his wife of 71 years, Opal; sons, Robert G. Pfender, Jr. (Margaret) and James D. Pfender (Gladys); daughter, Susan Hurt (Ronald); grandchildren, Melinda Alldredge (Aaron), Karen Snodgrass (John), Amy Woods, and Mark Pfender (Roberto); great-grandchildren, Dylan Woods, Braden Alldredge, Belle Woods, Chloe Woods, and Baylie Alldredge. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Alexander East Chapel with Rev. Dan Kennedy officiating. Burial will follow at Park Lawn Cemetery. Friends may visit on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
