

Bob attended Reitz High School from 1942 to 1946. He was inducted into the Army in 1950 during the Korean War. He was stationed at Camp Breckenridge in KY in 1950, in San Antonio, TX in 1951 as a physical reconditioning instructor, and then Sasebo, Japan in 1952. Bob then came home to Evansville and began teaching. He taught at North High School from 1956 to 1992. Bob was passionate about photography and science, which he taught to his students. He lived his life as a humanist, always seeking the truth.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Beverly (Bosse) Southwood; parents, William and Hazel Southwood; and siblings, Lloyd, Delbert, and Carolyn.
Bob is survived by his son, David A. Southwood; daughter, Kristi Sebastian (Larry); brother, Bill (Valerie); sister, Marilyn; and several nephews, nieces and cousins.

Bob's family is holding a private gathering at a later date, when Bob and Beverly will be placed in their final resting place at Alexander Memorial Park.
