Dear Jeanette and Family, 
It has been 3 long years that, ironically, have passed so quickly, it seems only yesterday Roger went away.   When one lives fully and loves deeply, a single moment apart seems an eternity; yet the life shared and love exchanged remains as real and fresh as yesterday.  My prayer today is that you each - in little ways, in magnificent ways - continue to share Roger's life and love with each other.  
Dear Roger, when you see Mary, ask that she be an extra-special Mother to Jeanette.  And ask Jesus to be with each of us, showing us the way to Him.  Thank you and Rest in Peace.  

Most will always remember March 2020 as the time the U.S. (and much of our world) went on lockdown due to a mysterious virus - and we all anxiously awaited life getting back to normal.    For those who loved Roger, March 2020 is remembered as the time our hearts were broken by his sudden departure - and we knew then life would never get back to normal.  For beneath the sometimes gruff and I-don't-care-whatever demeanor beat a heart of gold.  A heart at once so vibrant with life and love, yet ailing more than we knew.  Alas, in this journey of life, there is no going back - and is that not really the bittersweet reward for having been touched and loved deeply by another?   Dear Roger, we all still miss you and none more so than your lovely Jeanette.  Thank you for sharing your life with my little sister.  Though my heart now aches for her grieving, I know she was truly blessed by your life and love.  Rest peacefully, brother-in-law.

Roger is still missed so very much.   Roger's wit and sense-of-humor was much appreciated (by me, at least!).  Behind the sometimes gruff I-don't-care  exterior was a heart-of-gold.  I remember holding my first granddaughter at a family gathering at the farm . . . Much as I tried to comfort Lauren, she was still not happy.  Roger said in his way . . . "Gimme that kid".  I don't recall exactly how Lauren reacted when I handed her to Great Uncle Roger.  But I do remember how touched I was that he wanted to hold and comfort her.  Roger, you are missed and loved!  

I remember that I always called him grumpa I remember when he would chase me around the house and he was the most kind  and thoughtful person I've ever met. I love grumpa and everyone else loves him too and we miss you so much but like what you would want for us to do is be strong and don't think about what's happening right now but think about all the good things we got to do together and that's what matters and grumpa you are my memory I love you so so much

Dear Jeanette and Family, 
We were all blessed by Roger's presence in our lives.  I believe that Roger has already been welcomed into the arms of God with the words, "well done, good and faithful servant".   May you be comforted with many beautiful memories.

We remember Roger very well from when he and Joseph Butler were both at Earl's garage and they worked on not only our car, but on several that belonged to folks at Patchwork Central.
Your tribute video is beautiful - we send our sincere sympathy to all who loved him.

Jeanette, my condolences on Rogers passing. You two were always kindhearted people and we’re one of the few things that I do miss of my days at Berry. My prayers are with you guys in this time. Stay safe, stay healthy, and take it one day at a time.
