

Ronald “Ronnie” Douglas Farmer, 74, of Evansville, IN, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 29, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born on December 5, 1949, in Evansville to Pendley Douglas Farmer and Dorothy Ann (Spillman) Farmer, he was a cherished member of our community.
Ronnie graduated from Nogales High School in California in 1967. He dedicated 39 years of his career as a color technician at Red Spot before retiring. Known for his green thumb, Ronnie was celebrated as the best gardener in the family. His passions extended to cheering on IU basketball and Notre Dame football, where his enthusiastic support was well-known. He shared a special bond with his grandson, Triston “Rotten Cotton” Kitchens, and was a devoted family man with a deep love for history.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Cheryl (Cundiff) Farmer; his daughter, Stacey Farmer; his son, Ryan Farmer and his fiancée, Lisa Burress; and his treasured grandson, Triston Kitchens. Ronnie also leaves behind his seven siblings: Gayle Bradley, Dennis Farmer, Martha Farmer, Phillip Farmer, Dana Cobb, Becky Farmer, and Myrtle Loya. He is survived by his in-laws, Billy and Shelly Cundiff, and Candy and Bill Backes, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and his faithful dog, Nikolai Lui.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, Pendley and Dorothy Farmer, and his in-laws, Billy and Mary Lou Cundiff.
A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Alexander West Chapel, 2100 W. Illinois Street, Evansville, IN.
A Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Deacon Tom Goebel, followed by entombment at Alexander Memorial Park. Friends and family may visit from 10:00 a.m. until the service time on Wednesday.
